Hi, I'm a totally addicted newbie, having only been beading for 3 months now, and I've just about reached the stage where I'm starting to think up my own designs :-)

I am currently making a bracelet out of leftover beads, mainly size 11's with a few size 8's and some drops. I have based the stitch on a sort of St Petersburg braid, but even though I stitch quite tightly I feel that St Petersburg is a bit 'flimsy' for a bracelet.

When I fold the length of beading in half (so it's double thickness) and twist it, the effect is quite nice, with the drops sticking out in all directions in a 'spiky' sort of style.

Can anyone advise me how to make the twist permanent? There must be some way of stitching through the beadwork to keep it twisted, but what is the best (and neatest) way to do this?

Thanks for any help.

i think it's a bit of a problem stitching through the twist, i've tried it with a few of my kits. have a go though at different types of threads. nymo is not very successful for twisting because it has very little twist itself but other threads may work better. or maybe you could try bolting two stitches together to get the desired effect - and end up inventing something new!
